The MSc Philosophy, Mental Health and Psychology at Birmingham bridges three disciplines to provide a broad, interdisciplinary understanding of the human mind and mental wellbeing. Students take modules from philosophy, psychology, and mental health studies, developing analytical skills, ethical reasoning, and the ability to engage with current debates in all three fields. The programme runs over 12 months full-time, comprising 120 credits of taught modules and a 60-credit dissertation or project. There are three final project options: a 15,000-word philosophy dissertation, a research dissertation linked to the Institute for Mental Health, or a supervised psychology research project producing a 6,000-word thesis.
