This MA engages students with fundamental questions about reality, knowledge, ethics, and human existence, covering topics from free will and philosophy of mind to bioethics and global justice. Core components include Research Skills and Methods in Philosophy and a 60-credit dissertation, with 100 credits of optional modules including Epistemology, Philosophy of Language, Bioethics, Human Rights, Topics in Global Justice, and Philosophy and Mental Health. The department achieved the highest ranked research in the UK in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework based on Grade Point Average.
