The Master of Cultural Materials Conservation is a professional qualification providing interdisciplinary training in contemporary conservation practice across the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums), community conservation, and research. Drawing on the combined expertise of the Grimwade Centre, the Arts and Science Faculties, and the University of Melbourne Cultural Collections, the program emphasises the philosophical, theoretical, social, sustainable, and technical domains of cultural materials conservation within situated contexts. Students gain hands-on experience working with senior heritage professionals and conservators.
