The MA in Geopolitics at Queen's University Belfast is designed for students interested in the intersections of space, power and politics in an increasingly complex international scene. The programme integrates historical, cultural and political perspectives to analyse contemporary issues from security challenges and climate change to the rise of new superpowers and everyday geographies. Core modules cover Critical Geopolitics, Geo-power (States, Sovereignty, Territory), Culture and the Geopolitics of the Everyday, and Approaches to Research Design. Students engage with critical concepts including sovereignty, borders, migration, security technologies and nationalism, and develop rigorous interdisciplinary analytical and research skills.
