The MSc Dental Technology puts students at the forefront of research in the rapidly evolving field of dental technology and materials. Students gain in-depth knowledge of CAD-CAM, implantology, occlusion, aesthetics and dental materials, taught by clinical consultants, chief technicians and dental/biomaterials experts. Seven compulsory modules cover occlusion, implantology, aesthetics, advanced technical practice, and properties of dental materials. Hands-on experience is gained through implantology clinics and technical practice sessions. A laboratory-based research project under supervisor guidance culminates in a project report and viva presentation. Queen Mary ranks joint first in the UK for research environment in dentistry (REF 2021).
