视觉、物质与博物馆人类学 MPhil Visual, Material and Museum Anthropology

The MPhil in Visual, Material and Museum Anthropology introduces students to theories and perspectives on museum anthropology, visual anthropology, and material culture theory, as well as practical field- and museum-based research methodologies. The MPhil acts as a terminal degree but also provides broader and deeper preparation for doctoral research than the MSc equivalent. The two-year programme combines a structured first year of lectures, classes, and tutorials with a research-focused second year culminating in a thesis. Students engage with the extensive visual and material cultural resources available in the department and the Pitt Rivers Museum. The course is offered by the School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography and accepts approximately four students per year.
