社会人类学 MPhil Social Anthropology

The MPhil in Social Anthropology aims to provide a solid background in analytical and methodological issues as they apply to social anthropology and allows you to develop an extended research project. Social anthropology considers people as social beings, questioning everything from solidly held beliefs and attitudes to ideas about causality, the self in society, and nature and culture. The MPhil is intended both as a standalone degree and as a broader and deeper preparation for doctoral research than is possible with the MSc in Social Anthropology. Students learn to relate different versions of the human condition through ethnographic fieldwork and comparative cross-cultural analysis. The programme fosters rigorous theoretical engagement alongside empirical research skills.
