The MSc Security and Data Science provides a unique blend of in-depth knowledge of the security-threat landscape and practical data science skills. The programme explores how advancements in artificial intelligence and data are reshaping security, defence and law enforcement domains — creating both novel opportunities and new vulnerabilities. No prior experience of data work or computer coding is required; all necessary technical skills are taught at an appropriate level. Core compulsory modules cover security and emerging technologies alongside two computational social science modules, culminating in a dissertation or research consultancy project.
