The LLM Governance and Devolution develops knowledge of the UK's structural and constitutional arrangements, exploring radical changes including the creation of legislative bodies in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, and the implications of Brexit. Students examine the opportunities and tensions of these structural innovations and debate accountability, democratic engagement, and good governance at state and international levels. The programme benefits from the Wales Governance Centre and close connections with devolved institutions. Cardiff's Politics and International Relations research scored 4.0 for impact in REF 2021.
