艺术史 MA History of Art

The MA History of Art at Birmingham is based in the internationally renowned Barber Institute of Fine Arts, home to masterworks by Monet, Picasso, and Van Gogh. The programme runs 12 months full-time, comprising 120 credits of taught modules and a 60-credit dissertation. All students take core modules in Criticism and Methods in the History of Art and Visual Culture and Postgraduate Training and Methods. An optional British Art Pathway focuses on British art from the eighteenth century to the present. Wide-ranging special subject optional modules cover Pre-Raphaelites, contemporary art, gender and sexuality, and global art studies. The department is ranked 8th in the UK in REF 2021 and offers placement opportunities with regional and national galleries.
