艺术史与策展 MA Art History and Curating

The MA Art History and Curating at the University of Birmingham combines rigorous academic study with hands-on professional practice. Students conduct original research into art objects and develop a curatorial project in partnership with a real arts organisation, working across both historical and contemporary art. The programme runs over 12 months full-time and is structured across three terms, with four taught modules per term in autumn and spring, followed by an independent dissertation in the summer. A significant component is the 15,000-word dissertation, which students begin planning in the first term. Teaching takes place in small seminars, and students benefit from the department's base in the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, one of the UK's most renowned on-campus galleries.
