历史学（近现代史） MA History (Modern and Contemporary History)

The MA History (Modern and Contemporary History) at Birmingham examines transformations from the industrial revolution to the digital age, and from the French Revolution to the Arab Spring. The programme runs 12 months full-time, comprising 120 credits of taught modules and a 60-credit dissertation. Core modules include Critical Histories of the Present, Historical Approaches, and Research Preparation. Optional modules span British, American, African, South Asian, Middle Eastern, and European history. Students benefit from the Centre for Modern and Contemporary History and may choose modules on environmental politics, post-colonial migration, and feminist movements. An optional Public History placement allows students to gain practical professional experience.
