The MA Cinematography for Film and Television Production at the University of York trains students in visual storytelling for screen. The programme covers lighting theory and design, camera technology and operation, studio and location production methods, and the business of film and television. Core modules include Digital Cinematography I and II, Grading Effects and Finishing, Group Projects and an Individual Project. Students use professional ARRI, RED and Sony camera systems and have access to fully equipped sound stages, TV studios, green screen stages and picture and sound finishing suites. An individual project worth a third of course credits allows students to pursue their own creative ambitions.
