语音与语言处理 MPhil Speech and Language Processing

The MPhil in Speech and Language Processing examines language from two distinct perspectives. Speech processing deals with the science of spoken communication, how speech is encoded by the speaker and decoded by the listener, and is concerned with the processing techniques used to model speech in ways that can be implemented in technology such as speech synthesis. Language processing involves computational aspects of linguistics, addressing theories of grammar and meaning and providing access to the fundamentals of linguistics as both a science and an engineering discipline with applications such as predictive text and automated personal assistants. The programme offers a tailor-made, flexible design shaped by students' interests, with small class sizes taught by experts.
