The MEd in Education Studies at Queen's University Belfast provides advanced study in educational research, theory and practice for education professionals. Core modules introduce students to a broad range of research methodologies — quantitative and qualitative — with an emphasis on ethical considerations and evidence-based inquiry in educational contexts. Students explore contemporary issues in education through specialist modules and complete a 15,000–20,000 word dissertation under one-to-one supervision. The dissertation may take the form of a literature review, systematic review, meta-analysis, secondary data analysis or an empirical study. Optional modules allow students to pursue areas such as educational leadership, school improvement and leadership theory.
