The MA in Philosophy at Queen's University Belfast is a pluralist programme that recognises and values diverse philosophical methods, histories and scholarly approaches while providing a strong grounding in core areas of philosophy. Students explore historical and contemporary debates, solve abstract and concrete problems, and engage with fundamental and applied questions. Staff have strengths in ethics, epistemology, philosophy of science, metaphysics, philosophy of religion, philosophy of technology, political philosophy and post-Kantian European philosophy. The programme is ranked joint first in the UK for Research Intensity, and students benefit from personalised education through the dissertation and individually negotiated topic modules.
