The MA Political Theory at Queen Mary provides advanced knowledge of contemporary political and ethical challenges. Students explore dilemmas in areas including environmental catastrophe, war, new technologies and social inequality, developing methodological tools to apply ethical values in political and social life. The curriculum combines compulsory modules in Research Methodologies for Normative Political Theory and Contemporary Political Theories with four elective modules spanning migration, capitalism, international security, theories of the state and globalisation. A compulsory dissertation on a Political Theory topic completes the degree. Teaching occurs through lectures, seminars, workshops and individual supervision, with access to Queen Mary's Mile End Institute policy hub.
