The Applied Statistics and Data Science MSc moves beyond traditional statistics degrees by offering modernised modules that meet contemporary industry needs. Students learn to harness the power of data and statistics while mastering analysis tools including R and Python. The programme covers core fundamentals of statistics and machine learning together with relevant software, and explores applications in business, biostatistics, and medical statistics across three semesters. Compulsory modules include Applied Statistical Modelling, Bayesian Statistics, Machine Learning with Python, Computational Statistics with R, and Storing, Manipulating and Visualising Data. Elective modules cover Time Series Analysis for Business and Advanced Machine Learning.
