The MA Creative Writing and the Writing Industries allows graduates to refine and apply their writing skills across genres and gain comprehensive knowledge of the writing industries, including publishing pathways, professional practices and cultural communications. The programme includes core creative writing modules alongside professional development, with workshops in fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry, plus sessions on planning, structuring and editing completed work. Students learn about the role of writers in the heritage sector, community arts and events. The course prepares students for working life as a writer through partnership working, funding bids, commissions and publishing landscapes. Students co-organise a literary festival.
