当代文学与文化 Contemporary Literature and Culture

The MA Contemporary Literature and Culture enables graduates to explore British and American fiction, poetry and drama, analysing contemporary issues such as gender rights, climate change and the Covid pandemic, and understanding how literary prizes influence today's literature. The course covers cultural forms including literature, digital media, drama, film and television, attending to cultural and theoretical responses to contemporary events and phenomena. A distinctive focus is on how publishing, prizes and promotional strategies shape the literary landscape. Students plan and hold a literary festival, with the programme culminating in a dissertation on a topic of each student's choosing.
