The MSc Political Economy of Emerging Markets is a multidisciplinary social science programme examining national development strategies of middle-income countries and the politics and institutions underpinning these strategies. The programme offers rigorous training in quantitative and qualitative methods, with a policy-oriented focus on climate change, sustainability and finance for development. Students explore relationships between states, markets and institutions, and how economic growth has been promoted in different national contexts. Optional modules allow specialisation in regional expertise including Latin America, China, East Asia and Africa.
