The MSc Applied Bioinformatics is delivered by bioinformatics experts and clinicians at King's College London. The programme begins with an introductory module tailored to students' backgrounds, offering either Fundamentals of Programming for Biologists or Principles of Molecular Biology for Computer Scientists. Core modules cover advanced programming and cloud computing, statistics, omics techniques, and data management. Students take one optional module in AI and Machine Learning or Systems Biology, then complete a six-month research project. The programme develops skills to analyse and integrate biological data using methods from information technology, mathematics, computer science and statistics.
