The MSc Island Biodiversity and Conservation is a one-year programme dedicated to understanding and conserving the biodiversity of islands. Delivered by the Jersey International Centre of Advanced Studies (JICAS) and accredited by the University of Exeter, the programme features substantial fieldwork in the Channel Islands and Canary Islands, and dissertation opportunities in Hawaii, Greece, Madagascar and Mauritius. Modules cover island biogeography, ecology, biodiversity and evolution, invasion and extinction, global conservation strategies and climate change. The programme prepares graduates for careers in conservation NGOs, government ministries, consultancies and academia, and serves as a gateway to PhD study.
