The MA Special Educational Needs (SEN) at Exeter enables students to develop an excellent understanding of special educational needs and disability policy, practice and provision in the UK, while also considering inclusive education in international and country-specific contexts. Students study critical perspectives on inclusion and disability, creativity in education, and education policy. The programme encourages critical reflection on professional practice and investigation of educational issues of personal interest. The dissertation enables in-depth research, typically through gathering and analysis of empirical data, in an area of the student's choice such as deaf education, dyslexia, or inclusion.
