This MA offers interdisciplinary training in film theory, cutting-edge screen research and archival practice, enhanced by exclusive access to the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum and research-led teaching through the Exeter Screen Studies Centre. You will engage with a broad range of topics drawing on strengths in film theory, film history and archival studies, transnational and world cinemas, feminist, queer and gender studies, star studies and transmedia adaptations. The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum — the only university film museum in the UK with a world-class collection of over 70,000 film-related artefacts — provides a unique opportunity to gain research skills and curatorial expertise.
