The MA in Journalism, Media and Communications at Cardiff University provides in-depth understanding of how media work across social, cultural, economic and political contexts. It focuses on the academic study of journalism, exploring key debates from journalism ethics and internet governance to community media, global communications, and crisis reporting. Students examine how media relate to globalisation, political institutions, conflict, and environmental challenges, as well as the roles of new information technologies, their democratic potential and regulation. Situated in one of the UK's leading journalism research schools, ranked 2nd by government assessment, the programme also serves as a strong foundation for PhD research.
