Taught by leading scholars across a range of periods and geographies, the MA History programme at Cardiff seeks to satisfy curiosity about history while deepening knowledge of its key concepts and methods as a discipline. Students explore social, cultural, intellectual and political approaches to the past across a broad chronological and geographic range. The programme offers a flexible dissertation route — a traditional research dissertation (up to 15,000 words) or a public engagement and community action project. Optional modules provide opportunities to communicate research to heritage sector audiences. Students benefit from placement opportunities in the heritage sector.
