The MSc Sustainable Urban Planning and Design critically analyses the challenges faced by urban areas in designing sustainable, inclusive, and healthy urban environments, evaluating the effectiveness of various mitigation strategies and policies. Students take core planning modules in Semester 1 with optional modules to build wider understanding of urban challenges in Semester 2, alongside a studio module that operates across both semesters and a research-based dissertation project. Core modules include Introduction to Spatial Planning, Sustainable Cities, and the Sustainable Places Studio module (40 credits), plus a Dissertation for Urban Planning and Design (60 credits).
