The MSc Nursing programme at Birmingham's Medical School enables graduates with relevant prior caregiving experience to qualify as registered nurses within the Nursing and Midwifery Council in two years, with specialisations available in Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, or Children's Nursing. The programme combines taught modules with a minimum of 1,800 hours of clinical placement across two years. Year one provides a foundation in nursing practice, clinical skills, and patient care, with formative and summative placements in the chosen field. Year two introduces advanced clinical assessment, coordination of complex care, leadership in managing care teams, and a Health and Social Care Enquiry project.
