The MSc Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Econometrics (MORSE) at the University of Birmingham is designed to train a new generation of mathematicians for the frontiers of industry and academia. The programme blends business analytics, mathematical optimisation techniques, operational research methods, programming, and statistics to prepare graduates for a wide range of quantitative careers. Students develop the ability to integrate statistical and optimisation knowledge, analyse complex problems, and provide rational appraisals. Core modules include Statistical Methods in Finance and Economics and a 60-credit research project.
