The MSc Electrical Power Systems at the University of Birmingham develops your power engineering skills for a career in the energy sector. You will discover the challenges facing the electrical power industry and learn to develop innovative solutions for power system problems, covering advanced concepts in electrical power systems and renewable energy. The programme is structured across Autumn and Spring terms of taught modules, followed by a summer MSc dissertation project. Core modules include HVDC and FACTS, Renewable Energy Systems Integration, Power Systems Stability Control and Protection, Power System Economics, and Power Systems Operation and Control.
