The MSc Applications of Data Science equips graduates with applied data science expertise to address complex, real-world challenges, with a particular emphasis on advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Unlike theory-heavy courses, this programme prioritises practical implementation, enabling students to use data science as a tool for meaningful societal impact. Taught by one of the UK's leading Physics departments, the programme combines 120 credits of taught modules across two terms with a 60-credit summer dissertation. Students gain hands-on experience analysing data using Python, learn to interpret data, and understand the applications of data analysis and machine learning methodologies for real-world problems.
