The Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Birmingham is a well-established multidisciplinary programme equipping students with theoretical and practical knowledge for a career in public health. Teaching takes place in intensive one- or two-week blocks. Core modules include Practical Epidemiology and Statistics, and Epidemiology, Statistics and Research Methods. Optional modules cover health improvement, health protection, healthcare public health, health economics, qualitative research methods, clinical trials, systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, advanced statistical methods, health informatics, leadership and management, and sociology and social policy. Students complete a 60-credit or 40-credit dissertation.
