The MA History at Birmingham lets students enhance their knowledge of historical areas they find most fascinating. Students can study the general MA History or specialise through one of three pathways: Global History, Modern and Contemporary History, or Medieval and Early Modern History. The 180-credit programme comprises 120 credits of taught modules and a 60-credit dissertation. Core modules include Historical Approaches and Research Preparation, with a wide range of optional modules from medieval studies to public history placement. Modules are mainly taught in small group seminars, with two hours of seminar time per module per week.
