The MA Global Criminology and Criminal Justice at Birmingham challenges students to think critically about crime, deviance, and justice in a rapidly changing global world. The programme offers a unique blend of sociological, legal, and psychological approaches, engaging with debates on crime control, human rights, and social justice. The 180-credit programme comprises four compulsory modules including Advanced Criminological Theory, Advances in Criminology and Criminal Justice, Social Research and Analysis Skills, and a Dissertation, plus three optional modules from areas such as Crime and Justice in a Globalised World and Sociology of Race and Racism. Teaching is delivered through lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
