The Master of Science (Advanced) in Theoretical Physics is a two-year degree providing rigorous training in the mathematical and theoretical foundations of modern physics. Based at the Research School of Physics, the program develops expertise in quantum field theory, general relativity, nonlinear dynamics, and applied mathematical methods. The compulsory core consists of five courses: Quantum Field Theory, General Relativity, Applied Mathematical Methods in Physics, Quantum Field Theory 2, and Nonlinear Dynamics in Physics. Students complement these with 6000-8000 level physics electives. The 24-unit research project is individually supervised and assessed through a written thesis and oral presentation.
