With internationally renowned teaching staff, and surrounded by national cultural institutions, ANU is a historian's dream. The Master of History (Advanced) provides the theoretical grounding and practical skills for the advanced study of history, plus the opportunity to tailor a program according to individual interests. Students can draw upon prize-winning teaching and research in Australian, North American, ancient, early modern and modern European, and British history, and expertise from leading centres for Indigenous history, environmental history, and biography. The program includes a 24-unit research thesis, enabling students to complete a major piece of independent historical research. Supervisor approval is required prior to thesis enrolment.
